How to use the semen test
The test and sample should be brought to a temperature of approximately 15–30 °C before testing. Prepare the sample according to the instructions supplied with the product.
- Prepare the sample in a clean container.
- Remove the test strip from its sealed pouch.
- Immerse the test strip vertically in the sample liquid for 10–15 seconds.
- Do not allow the liquid to rise above the MAX line.
- Remove the strip and place it on a clean, level surface.
- Read the result after 5 minutes.
Do not interpret the result after 10 minutes. For best results, the test should be performed within one hour of preparing the sample.
How to interpret the result
Positive result
Two coloured lines appear: a control line at C and a test line at T. A faint test line should also be interpreted as positive. A positive result means that PSA has been detected in the sample at or above the test’s detection limit.
Negative result
Only the control line at C appears. No test line appears at T. This means that PSA has not been detected at or above the test’s detection limit.
Invalid result
If no control line appears at C, the result is invalid. Repeat the test using a new test strip.

A positive result shows that human PSA has been detected in the examined sample. This suggests that the sample contains semen.
The test does not show who the semen came from and cannot link the sample to a particular person. It also cannot establish when the stain was formed, how the semen came into contact with the material or whether sexual activity was consensual or forced.

Store the test in its sealed pouch at 2–30 °C. Do not freeze the test and do not use it after the expiry date.
